Campus Relocation
After thorough study and deliberation, the Legacy Traditional Schools – Texas School Board has made a decision to permanently relocate the Kelley-Oblate campus to the Legacy – Basse campus location beginning this fall. The Basse campus is located just 2.5 miles from the Kelley-Oblate campus.
Reasons for Relocation to Basse Campus
There are several factors contributing to this decision.
Strong school community and campus leadership
The students, staff and families at the Kelley-Oblate campus have developed an incredible school community over the past two years. You have formed a tight-knit bond through consistent and dedicated leadership, and should be proud of the growth made in a relatively short period of time. We are thrilled that Molly Stumpo, previous assistant principal at Kelley-Oblate, will be serving as principal for grades K-5 at Legacy – Basse for the 2023-24 school year. With Principal Stumpo at the helm, we are confident that the Legacy – Basse campus, with Kelley-Oblate students in attendance and the many familiar faces of teachers and staff, will continue the positive trajectory of our school culture for years to come.
Exceptional education in a consistent setting
By relocating to the Basse campus, Kelley-Oblate students will have the opportunity to continue their education with Legacy Traditional Schools through high school. The school will be referenced as Legacy – Basse Primary for grades K-5 and Legacy – Basse Secondary for grades 6-12. It’s important to note that while students of all ages are sharing a single campus, the location of grade levels is separated so that younger students will not be interacting with older students. This ensures that effective learning takes place across grade levels.
Pre-Kindergarten for ages 3 and 4
We are also excited to announce that Legacy – Basse will offer preschool for children ages 3 and 4 starting in the 2023-24 school year. Additional details about this enhanced program will be shared in the coming weeks.
Basse renovations and facility improvements
As you may know, Legacy – Basse’s $4 million renovation project is currently underway and will be completed by mid-July. This monumental investment in the Basse campus allows Legacy to welcome Kelley-Oblate students in a setting that will help students grow and learn well into the future. The improvements include:

We’ve invested $4 million to renovate our campus to meet the educational needs of children in our community. We believe in San Antonio! Our improvements are scheduled to be completed before the Fall of 2023.
